Fashion Week NYC Street Style Nails

This month I flew to New York Fashion Week to bring you a special series of Street Style Beauty. It’s not all about the fashion at Fashion Week – beauty is just a relevant. Whether it’s on the catwalk or on the streets, trends are being set and worn.

I discovered some gorgeous looks and some key trends from the most fashionable people. In the first 2 posts of the series I showed you hair street style and makeup street style. In this final post I’m showing you the nails I saw at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, New York. Continue Reading

Fashion Week NYC Street Style makeup

Everybody generally cares about the fashion at Fashion Week but beauty is just as relevant. It’s where trends are made and modelled – whether it be fashion or beauty. But where things differ is that the fashion world is obsessed with street style, while the beauty world seems to focus on the catwalk. I believe the tables should be turned because it’s the real people, out on the streets, who are bringing beauty looks to life. This is why I flew to New York Fashion Week to bring you this special series of Street Style Beauty.

I discovered some gorgeous looks and some key trends from the most fashionable people. In the first post of this 3-part series I showed you hair street style, and now I’m going to show you the makeup I saw at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, New York. Continue Reading

New York Fashion Week 2014

We’ve seen the incredible outfits worn to New York Fashion Week thanks to the many talented street style photographers that now rule the fashion world. It’s a topic that interests me but I always find myself asking, “why don’t you snap her nails?” or “where are the cool hairstyles?”. I questioned whether anyone who attends fashion ever did anything with their beauty look so I took it upon myself to go to New York Fashion Week and get the answers myself. This is the result ….. street style beauty.

I’m sure I’m not the first person to ever take a focus on street style beauty but it’s definitely lacking in the blog arena. Yes, the majority of the fashion crowd don’t brush their hair and they don’t really wear makeup but not all of them are like that. I discovered some gorgeous looks and some key trends from the most fashionable people. In the first post of this 3-part series I’m going to show you the cool hair colours and styles I saw at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, New York. Continue Reading

Best Vegan Skincare Brands

Everyone has their own opinion on what skincare should do and be, but for me it’s all about aiming for perfection. I don’t want skincare that does the bare minimum and let’s me age gracefully. I only want to use skincare that WORKS – constantly improving my skin and getting it to function at it’s very best. That’s why I’m sharing with you the best vegan skincare brands.

People often confuse my choice to be vegan as somehow meaning I don’t care about my aesthetics any more. They couldn’t be more wrong! My strict standards for top performing skincare isn’t lessened by my cruelty-free choices. If anything, it makes my standards even higher.

There’s a misconception that cruelty-free and vegan skincare is unable subpar; that they’re less effective than animal-based skincare formulations. While this may have been the case decades ago when vegan skincare exclusively meant “natural” products with little to no scientific basis, skincare development has come a long way since then. Don’t get me wrong, there are still hundreds of natural skincare brands out there that do exactly what I don’t want – they don’t improve your skin, they just make it feel and smell nice – and there is a market for those. Not everyone is deathly afraid of aging like me. However, if you strive for clear, healthy and progressively improving skin despite the years passing us by, than I have exactly what you need.

My list of top performing skincare brands will introduce you to the changemakers. The hard-working, highly efficient skincare that allows you to take charge of your own aging appearance. And it just so happens they’re also the best vegan skincare brands too!  Continue Reading
