Simple Spotless Rapid Action Spot Zapper

Pimples don’t stop making themselves present just because you turn 25. In fact, I believe I’ve had more pimples as an adult than I ever had as a pre-teen or teenager. Stress, diet, hormones and environmental changes are something that have contributed greatly to my recent season of breakouts. I have a pretty solid daily skincare regime but when the occasional breakout rears its ugly head I don’t go changing my entire routine. I break out a spot treatment instead.

Simple Skincare’s range expansion now includes blemish fighters. I recently picked up the Spot Zapper as I’m a sucker for trying a new release and the roll-on applicator intrigued me. Has it been combatting my pimples? Read the review below to find out! Continue Reading

Bioderma Atoderm Nourishing Cream

Dry skin needs a lot of extra TLC in my opinion. If you want smooth, healthy skin you have to fight to keep it hydrated, especially in summer. Internal and external sources of hydration are important to all skin types but extra dry skin can take a little more work to keep the thirst quenched. My dry skin is pretty tough and can get through most conditions relatively unharmed but in summer my legs can get so dry they reveal scales.

I need a body lotion that will hydrate my dry skin but is gentle enough on irritations as well as being highly effective to work fast and help my skin build a stronger barrier. Bioderma’s Atoderm range is specifically designed for dry and very dry skin. Having had success with the body wash, I wanted to try the lotion. Here are my findings.   Continue Reading

L'Occitane Verbena Verveine Fresh Shower Gel

Do you like to save a special scent for a time you think it’s more suited? I know, that sounds ridiculous. It’s something I never would have imagined I would do but when I first smelt the limited edition Verbena Fresh Shower Gel back in January I knew it was a perfect Spring/Summer scent for me. I’m not much of a florals and flowers girl, so the sweet, fresh, citrusy scent was exactly what I wanted during Spring. That meant that I had to stash away this product until just recently but now having used it for a couple of months I can definitely say the wait was worth it and the scent is just as I had hoped. So how did it perform as a shower gel? Let me tell you!  Continue Reading

L'Oréal Paris Nude Magique Blur Cream

Blur creams exploded on to the Australian beauty market this year but they’ve actually been a commonly used cosmetic for many years, most of which we know by another name ….. makeup primer. Blur creams harness the power of silicone, most commonly in the form of dimethicone. It’s the same ingredient you’ll find in some of the most popular makeup primers available today but it wasn’t until recent years that cosmetic companies noticed an appeal in packaging up the “new” technology and selling it under it’s own name. Possibly the most famous of these primers would be Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer, some actually call it the original blur cream.

The naming of it “blur” cream relates to the ‘blurring’ effect visible on the skin when silicone is applied. It’s promise to blur the appearance if fine lines, large pores and other skin imperfections similar to that of photoshopping an image. L’Oréal Paris say that their Nude Magique Blur Cream, which comes in two shade varieties, can be used alone or under makeup as a primer. Will it deliver on the blurring promises? I reveal my thoughts in this review. Continue Reading
