Love Those Lashes Paddington Boutique

Last year I discovered threading as a form of hair removal and it opened my eyes to a [painful] world of perfect eyebrows and silky smooth skin. Since I last spoke about my threading experience I have had the treatment a few more times and I tried to maintain my brows by tweezing between sessions. However, when I got sick at the end of last year all my beauty routines flew out the window and I was left a hairy mess. I tried to pluck myself into order but it was hopeless, I needed a pro and luckily some had just opened up near my favourite cafe. Love Those Lashes is a boutique lash & eyebrow salon in Paddington, Sydney (and they also have a location in Melbourne) so I went along to see what they could do with my brows.

After my first attempt with threading I learnt not to wear any makeup because I get teary and it just ends up running all over my face, so apologies for the makeup-free eyes.  Continue Reading

When my birthday rolled around in April I started getting even more concerned with aging. I finally tipped to the other side of my mid-twenties and the looming 3-0 is not far off. While age is all but a number to some, for me it is one very large root in my tree of fears. I started to look into ways I could prevent the appearance of aging even more so and one thing that kept coming back to me was Threading.

I decided that facial waxing was no longer an option for me because there is now solid proof that it is traumatic for the skin. Eyebrows and lips are the areas I would wax and as it turns out, that is the where the most damage occurs because of the sensitive tissues in those areas. Common side effects for facial waxing is increased breakdown of collagen and loss of elasticity so around the mouth that means lip line wrinkles, and for eyebrows it means sagging skin. No thank-you! Female Hair Loss Before and After

Female hair loss and hair thinning are a growing sector within the beauty market. I used to think female hair loss was a beauty issue and as such could be treated with beauty products. Self-inflicted hair loss is my most common concern. I blamed my tight braids, hair irons and chemical damage. However, the fact remains that the leading causes for female hair loss are health related.

When my normal amount of hair fall dramatically increased, with noticeable receding of my hairline, I panicked. I didn’t know where to begin with treating it but I couldn’t understand why it was happening. I’d stop styling my hair in tight do’s, I rarely heat style and I haven’t dyed my hair in almost 2 years. I ruled out self-inflicted hair loss so I went straight to my GP (doctor) to ask for advice. It turns out that my female hair loss was completely reversible for less than $20!  Continue Reading

Beauty blogger Kimberly Nissen of The Plastic Diaries reviews Trefiel Lace Face Mask, Moisturising sheet mask skincare.

If you follow beauty on Instagram it’s highly likely you’ve seen the Trefiel Lace Sheet Mask. They look like a piece of black lace, often seen adorning the faces of cute beauty influencers. What they actually are is a range of sheet masks. Really pretty sheet masks.

The Trefiel Lace Sheet Mask is available in four formulations – Moisturising, Brightening, Repairing and Toning. Trefiel initially launched with just the Moisturising mask but later rebranded and added 3 more masks to the line-up. I chose to review their original Moisturising Face Mask.  Continue Reading
