Sephora Australia Price Lists

Sephora Australia open their first store in Sydney this Friday, that’s just 2 days away! I’ve shared with you lots of exclusive snoops since the news broke they were opening a store here, and most recently all the Sephora Sydney opening day information but the one thing I haven’t shared is the price lists. Today, I’m breaking the silence.

We were told Sephora would be keeping prices comparable to their US pricing but no one has actually shared the pricing in detail. Price lists for the brands Sephora Australia will be carrying were distributed to media quite sometime ago but I’m publishing the pricing of the most in-demand products and brands now so you can go in on opening weekend and know exactly what you want to get. My pricing list shows the Sephora Australia recommended retail price in AUD. Continue Reading

Nail Polish Meme

I know I don’t need any more nail polish. No one NEEDS nail polish, but we want it. Especially me. And Sephora are back to their old tricks of tempting me to hand over my credit card for their snazzy new line of nail polish and nail care products, Formula X for Sephora.

The new line was launched just this month and while we did hear rumblings that the mega retailer would be looking to launch new nail offerings we still found this to be a well kept secret right up until it went on sale. The collection is massive, currently including over 200 items, and features everything from classic cremes to 3D appliqués.

The Collection

The collection is broken down into multiple sub-categories and each contain a variety of hues:  Continue Reading

Aurelio Costarella Nails Look Black

Nail Director: Karon McKendrick-Taylor for OPI

INSPIRATION

Two nail designs chosen matched the decorative headpieces. “Aurelio requested this look. He’s got a deconstructed range of clothing, so this deconstructed nail works well with his line,” said Karon McKendrick-Taylor.

About the collection: “The Aurelio Costarella girl is to look like a “living painting”, with plump, moist, angelic skin.” Continue Reading

Easton Pearson Miss Frou Frou Nails Look

INSPIRATION

It’s “50’s inspired, but it feels more like 2050” says Lydia Pearson.

It’s the small details like fingers and toes that help tie together a final overall look. For Easton Pearson’s show, Miss Frou Frou chose a series of it’s cult bights collection as accent colours to compliment the overall look. Continue Reading

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Purple Ombre Nails

The new and improved Complete Salon Manicure by Sally Hansen made my list of new launch favourites in February. Since then I have been playing around with the overwhelming 42 new shades and have my first ombre NOTD to show you. Of course I chose to go with my favourite colour, purple, but there were so many choices it was hard to pick. Being my first ombre manicure attempt (and I did it in a rush) I think it could have gone better so I am going to distract you from my crappy paint job with a comprehensive review of the new line.  Continue Reading

Best Vegan Skincare Brands

Everyone has their own opinion on what skincare should do and be, but for me it’s all about aiming for perfection. I don’t want skincare that does the bare minimum and let’s me age gracefully. I only want to use skincare that WORKS – constantly improving my skin and getting it to function at it’s very best. That’s why I’m sharing with you the best vegan skincare brands.

People often confuse my choice to be vegan as somehow meaning I don’t care about my aesthetics any more. They couldn’t be more wrong! My strict standards for top performing skincare isn’t lessened by my cruelty-free choices. If anything, it makes my standards even higher.

There’s a misconception that cruelty-free and vegan skincare is unable subpar; that they’re less effective than animal-based skincare formulations. While this may have been the case decades ago when vegan skincare exclusively meant “natural” products with little to no scientific basis, skincare development has come a long way since then. Don’t get me wrong, there are still hundreds of natural skincare brands out there that do exactly what I don’t want – they don’t improve your skin, they just make it feel and smell nice – and there is a market for those. Not everyone is deathly afraid of aging like me. However, if you strive for clear, healthy and progressively improving skin despite the years passing us by, than I have exactly what you need.

My list of top performing skincare brands will introduce you to the changemakers. The hard-working, highly efficient skincare that allows you to take charge of your own aging appearance. And it just so happens they’re also the best vegan skincare brands too!  Continue Reading
