Posts in Town Square

Did you see part 1? Did you think there was nothing left I could possibly buy? HA!

After a very restless attempt to sleep (darn jet lag), I awoke early on my ‘first official’ day in Las Vegas. After filling up on waffles at the Paris hotel, I decided to hit up Sephora again. I had to. My first visit, in all fairness, wasn’t exactly executed at my peak. I was tired, hungry, grumpy, exhausted and everything else that makes shopping not much joy. That first shop was mostly things on my want list, which is great, but I wanted to browse the wonderful displays. For this, my second trip to a Sephora, I decided to head to Town Square.

I had never been to Town Square but Continue Reading

I am an Australian Beauty Addict currently in the USA. There are some things that are going to be of high importance to me. One of those things is obviously going to be Beauty Stores. More specifically, Beauty Stores I have never been to and heard so much about. One of those stores is ULTA.

The Lead-Up

I have known for a long time that ULTA is not one of those stores designed for tourists. They are usually located in relatively suburban areas and for that reason I have never been able to find one on my previous trips to the USA. This trip I decided to make a concerted effort to locate one and make sure I schedule time to get there. That day was yesterday and despite the unwavering heat, I was very excited.

I decided to head to Town Square mall before hand as it was already half way between my hotel and ULTA at Silverado Ranch Plaza. Getting to Town Square was easy thanks to the amazing bus service known as The Deuce that runs up and down Las Vegas Boulevard. From there the only ‘easy’ way to get to Silverado Ranch Plaza is a Taxi ….. or hire a car but I can barely drive in Australia, there is no way I am attempting suburban USA. US $30 and one very chatty Taxi driver later, I was at ULTA. Continue Reading

Beauty blogger Kimberly Nissen of The Plastic Diaries reviews Dermaquest Stem Cell 3D Facial Cleanser

Face cleansers are seen as quite an underrated product in terms of our overall skincare needs, but they’re actually really important. The correct cleanser for your skin should remove dirt, debris and build-up that otherwise gets in the way of your other skincare products delivering their best results. A vast majority of skin issues can be activated simply by using the wrong cleanser. When it comes to anti-aging, it’s essential to not use a face cleanser that is drying or stripping. Hydration is key, and that’s one of the major claims behind the DermaQuest Stem Cell 3D Facial Cleanser.

As I continue my fight against aging and dry skin I’ve tested the DermaQuest Stem Cell 3D Facial Cleanser. Is it worth the price tag? Read on to find out.  Continue Reading

Female Hair Loss Before and After

Female hair loss and hair thinning are a growing sector within the beauty market. I used to think female hair loss was a beauty issue and as such could be treated with beauty products. Self-inflicted hair loss is my most common concern. I blamed my tight braids, hair irons and chemical damage. However, the fact remains that the leading causes for female hair loss are health related.

When my normal amount of hair fall dramatically increased, with noticeable receding of my hairline, I panicked. I didn’t know where to begin with treating it but I couldn’t understand why it was happening. I’d stop styling my hair in tight do’s, I rarely heat style and I haven’t dyed my hair in almost 2 years. I ruled out self-inflicted hair loss so I went straight to my GP (doctor) to ask for advice. It turns out that my female hair loss was completely reversible for less than $20!  Continue Reading

Beauty blogger Kimberly Nissen of The Plastic Diaries reviews Trefiel Lace Face Mask, Moisturising sheet mask skincare.

If you follow beauty on Instagram it’s highly likely you’ve seen the Trefiel Lace Sheet Mask. They look like a piece of black lace, often seen adorning the faces of cute beauty influencers. What they actually are is a range of sheet masks. Really pretty sheet masks.

The Trefiel Lace Sheet Mask is available in four formulations – Moisturising, Brightening, Repairing and Toning. Trefiel initially launched with just the Moisturising mask but later rebranded and added 3 more masks to the line-up. I chose to review their original Moisturising Face Mask.  Continue Reading
