Best Websites To Book Travel

I’m a keen traveller but half the fun for me is deciding where to go, how to get there and what to do once I’m there. I like 5-star, luxury travel all the way but I’m also a bargain hunter by nature. These two personality traits combined can be a nightmare when booking a trip but doing it myself mens I have full control over what I select, and I can make sure I get the best possible price. I’m a travel agents worst nightmare. I want the very best of everything while saving every penny I can, so how do I get the vacation I want? I utilise a bunch of websites to find the best deals for flights, accomodation and activities. I’m sharing them with you in hopes it helps you to get out there and experience the world a little more.

There is so much to see and do in our short lifetime. Step out of your comfort zone and you’ll be amazed what you discover.  Continue Reading

Ryanair Airplane Wing Blue Sky
“What’s wrong with me?”. It’s the 4-worded question you usually stop asking yourself as a teenager (if you ever thought it at all), but for me it’s been a lifelong quest to find an answer. Yes, I have clinical anxiety and depression but I’ve always felt like that wasn’t the only reason I dislike myself. I cannot tell you all the things people have said to me in an attempt to ease my curiosity.

You’ll grow out of it.

Wait until you’re older, you’ll love yourself then.

I didn’t really appreciate myself until I was in my 30s.

Once you have a boyfriend/husband/significant other, you’ll be fine!

I mean, really? A young woman is concerned about her deep hatred of herself and THAT’S what you tell them? It’s only recently that it clicked just how horrible that advice is. I’ve always been suicidal but it’s for other reasons I never took action. Had I actually listened to those responses and let them get to me, who knows the path I would of taken. Unfortunately, these people thought they were actually helping and that’s what scares me. How many people are out there who feel like me, and getting this advice?

While I may not know how to help anyone else who is experiencing a similar life to my own (yet!), I can share my story as it happens and hope it may have some positive effect for someone else. Last year I tried my hand at travelling Europe, both solo and as part of a Topdeck tour. I’ve learned a lot about myself and I have things I need to pass on to others, whether you love or loathe yourself (or anything in between).

Before I get into them, I want to make it crystal clear that this post is for EVERY ONE. Travelling solo isn’t just for people who aren’t in a relationship. Even if you’re married, in a new relationship or have some other kind of partnership this post is still directed at you. Another quick disclaimer, age is irrelevant. Whether you are 21 or 61 , it’s never too late to travel solo. In fact, I urge you to. Here’s why: Continue Reading

London UK Space NK Beauty Store

I’ve found my way to London as the first stop in what will be a two month long journey. I’ve never really had a desire to see the UK or Europe but as I quickly approach my 30’s I’ve been thinking about the things I said I would do by this age and have still not accomplished. My biggest goal was to retire rich but I’ve clearly failed that so I moved on to the second thing on my list …. a Euro trip.

In my rush to see the world I booked a return trip from Melbourne to London. I have two months to do what I want to do, the only issue is I didn’t actually plan what I wanted to do. It must sound like a wonderful dream to anyone who is reading this but for me, it’s a nightmare. My anxiety and depression have been on a crazy rollercoaster since I departed Melbourne on an 11:50pm Cathay Pacific flight to Hong Kong. Fast forward and now I’m sitting here in a gorgeous little apartment in Shoreditch, London trying to make a to-do list. I feel if I share with you exactly what I hope to see and do, perhaps it will drive me to tick them all off and not let my anxiety win this battle. Perhaps you can even tell me what I should do while I’m in this part of the world, I could use the help!  Continue Reading

Desert Island Beauty Packing List

I can’t count the amount of times I’ve been asked what my desert island beauty picks would be. My answer is always sunscreen. Hands down, it’s the most important because without it we would burn to a crisp, dehydrate and die. But what if you knew you were going to a deserted island for 4 days, with 3 of your friends, a heap of beer and delicious meals? What beauty supplies would you need then? Well, that’s the exact situation I faced when I jetted off to XXXX Island in Queensland.

As a guest of my friend, Helen of SASSYBELLA.com, I was challenged to live the good life for a few days on the XXXX private island along with our friends Sophia of Moulin Frock and Nicole of Confidant Liar. So what the heck do I pack? The battle between the lazy Kimmi and the prepare-for-any-situation Kimmi fought it out to come up with the perfect beauty pack list. These are the crucial items I packed in my suitcase.  Continue Reading

Red Door Spa Union Square

I went to New York to bring you some beauty street style during the glitz of Fashion Week, but at the end of it all I thought I deserved a little time out. Whether you’re travelling for work, play or purpose it’s important to take some “me” time because even holidays can be stressful. It’s in these situations that I love to head to a spa and get a relaxing treatment. For this trip to New York I wanted to tick off a very important spa that has been on my bucket list for a few years, the Red Door Spa.

The Red Door Spa by Elizabeth Arden is the iconic gem in the empire. If you didn’t already know, Elizabeth Arden was a pioneer in the day spa industry having opened her first on Fifth Avenue in 1910. Now there is over 30 Red Door Spa locations in the USA but their newest is located at Union Square, New York. While it’s new and shiny, I had to go give it a good run through to see if it’s up to scratch.  Continue Reading

Best Vegan Skincare Brands

Everyone has their own opinion on what skincare should do and be, but for me it’s all about aiming for perfection. I don’t want skincare that does the bare minimum and let’s me age gracefully. I only want to use skincare that WORKS – constantly improving my skin and getting it to function at it’s very best. That’s why I’m sharing with you the best vegan skincare brands.

People often confuse my choice to be vegan as somehow meaning I don’t care about my aesthetics any more. They couldn’t be more wrong! My strict standards for top performing skincare isn’t lessened by my cruelty-free choices. If anything, it makes my standards even higher.

There’s a misconception that cruelty-free and vegan skincare is unable subpar; that they’re less effective than animal-based skincare formulations. While this may have been the case decades ago when vegan skincare exclusively meant “natural” products with little to no scientific basis, skincare development has come a long way since then. Don’t get me wrong, there are still hundreds of natural skincare brands out there that do exactly what I don’t want – they don’t improve your skin, they just make it feel and smell nice – and there is a market for those. Not everyone is deathly afraid of aging like me. However, if you strive for clear, healthy and progressively improving skin despite the years passing us by, than I have exactly what you need.

My list of top performing skincare brands will introduce you to the changemakers. The hard-working, highly efficient skincare that allows you to take charge of your own aging appearance. And it just so happens they’re also the best vegan skincare brands too!  Continue Reading
