I’m honoured to have a guest post from one of my favourite vegan bloggers, Chelsey from Like A Vegan. Proving that veganism isn’t all about eating lettuce and wearing Crocs, Chelsey shows us how wonderfully colourful life can be as a vegan. And she is hilarious. No lectures, scare tactics or horrifying images of mutilated animals. Chelsey brings humor, fun and energy to life without cruelty – and now she is doing it here with this awesome post about her favourite vegan beauty products. Continue Reading

With so many diets, fads, weightless programs and the overall push towards fitspiration, it’s hard to know what you should and shouldn’t be changing in your life. A desire to get healthy is the hardest part, once you have the desire the rest won’t seem like a massive effort but what’s the first thing you can do upon making that realisation? Change your fuel!
Food is the fuel of our bodies and the simplest improvement you can make to your body is to change the fuel you’re putting in. With the addition (or increased intake) of these 3 foods you can be on your way to looking and feeling better than you ever have before. Continue Reading
When health was restored to my hair with the bhave Rescue Therapy hair treatment I found myself searching for a definitive answer on how I would like my hair to be. I’ve been a hair chameleon over the years having died it every colour of the rainbow, tried every chemical and non-chemical treatment, and cut it into all kinds of shapes, but my interest of late has been finding a hair cut, colour and style that just works with my life.
I’m lazy with styling my hair but I always want it to look neat and styled. I love long hair because it’s more versatile and I can tie it back when I don’t want to bother with it. How could I get the best of both worlds at once? The answer was hidden in a lob and a keratin treatment.
I went back to Neil Cleminson, the Creative & Technical Director for bhave, and told him my woes. I was hesitant about cutting off my long locks but with summer here it was just getting messy anyway. The decision was made to cut my hair into a long-bob (lob) and the rest of my hair troubles would be solved with the Smoothe + Keratin Therapy treatment. My review takes you through it. A gentle facial cleanser is an important staple in my bathroom. I love using skincare full of active ingredients but occasionally it needs a break from fighting the war on aging, and that’s when I turn to a gentle basic cleanser. The Rosehip by Essano Gentle Foaming Facial Cleanser isn’t something I would normally be drawn to but with the buzz of Rosehip still going strong I figured I would give it a go.
I never put too much faith in a skincare product without any actives so my hopes for gentle, basic cleansers is to avoid any irritation, over drying or excess oil production, cleaning off makeup and keeping my skin clear. Does Rosehip by Essano meet my demands? My review tells all. Continue Reading
We’ve had lots of requests for more vegan product lists so I’m excited to bring you one for the most requested store, The Body Shop. As probably the most globally recognised cruelty-free beauty brand, The Body Shop is often mistaken for being entirely vegan but while it’s unfortunate to report that isn’t the case, they still do have a huge vegan offering.
The cruelty-free status and vegan product information for The Body Shop is a little interesting because they hold cruelty-free certifications from most of the independent bodies but they are owned by L’Oreal so that raises a question mark depending on your own ethical beliefs. As usual, I will present to you the information about their animal testing policy and the products that don’t contain any animal ingredients, and allow you to make an informed choice as to what you purchase.
